  • The hospital located in Zanesville has 11 state-of-the-art operating rooms plus additional procure rooms for endoscopy and pulmonary. There is also a hybrid operating room that can be quickly transformed to accommodate minimally invasive procedures or life-saving operations to save time and lives. 
  • The Surgery Center in Zanesville offers six operating rooms and one treatment room to accommodate your outpatient services.
  • The Coshocton Surgery Center has two operating rooms and one procedure room to offer convenient outpatient care for the region.

Operating rooms offer automated video and audio systems to enable the surgical team to hear and see procedures in high definition. Genesis also offers high-tech robotic-assisted surgery for minimally invasive surgery that allows for smaller incisions and faster recovery time.

      Surgical services

      In addition to surgical consultations, below is a partial listing of procedures and testing services provided by the vascular surgery team at Genesis.

      Vascular surgery

      • Open and endovascular repair of abdominal aortic aneurysm
      • Monitoring of aneurysms greater than 4-5 centimeters
      • Carotid endarterectomy
      • Transcarotid artery revascularization (TCAR) - is a less-invasive method for reducing the risk of stroke and complications while treating carotid artery disease in one or both neck arteries. During the procedure, a small incision is made in the neck. A tube is inserted into the carotid artery and connected to equipment to direct blood flow away from the brain temporarily. The blood is filtered before returning to a vein in the groin. In addition to fewer risks during the TCAR procedure, a smaller incision is used to reduce scarring and procedure time is less than half compared to carotid endarterectomy.         Our specialists are experienced in both Sudden Cardiac Arrest, when the heart suddenly and unexpectedly stops beating, as well as Myocardial Infarction, which occurs when the blood flow to a certain part of the heart is blocked.

        12-lead EKG saves lives

        Before you arrive at our Emergency Department (ED) by ambulance, our ED doctors and cardiac team already have a plan to stop your heart attack. That’s because Genesis Hospital, Genesis Community Ambulance and the local EMS community have partnered to equip Emergency Medical Services (EMS) vehicles with 12-lead EKG monitors so they can determine if you are having a heart attack before arriving at the hospital. This lead time enables the hospital’s heart team to be ready to intervene as soon as you arrive. They can literally stop a heart attack in its tracks.

        Heart risk

        We can help you manage conditions that can lead to serious heart problems. These include high cholesterol, diabetes, high blood pressure and Metabolic Syndrome, which is a group of health problems that include excess fat around the waist, elevated blood pressure and blood sugar, high triglycerides and low HDL cholesterol.
