The support of a faith community can be an important source of comfort and connection during a hospital stay. Genesis Spiritual Care partners with local clergy and lay representatives to help patients and families receive pastoral care and spiritual encouragement.
Support during a hospital stay
Genesis Spiritual Care offers prayer, encouragement and a listening presence during a hospital stay. Chaplains are available to meet with patients and loved ones and, upon request, notify clergy, churches or faith leaders about a hospitalization.
Clergy ID badges
Genesis clergy photo identification (ID) badges help patients, families and hospital team members easily identify clergy and lay representatives. Badge holders also have access to the hospital after regular visiting hours.
How to apply:
- Print and complete the Genesis clergy ID badge application.
- Print and complete the confidentiality statement.
- Mail both forms to:

There is no fee to apply for a clergy ID badge. After Genesis completes a background check and approves an application, the Spiritual Care team will contact you to complete the next steps.

Erin Remster, D.O., Medical Director of Genesis Palliative Care Specialists and Genesis Hospice, will share insights on palliative care and finding comfort in uncomfortable places. Together, we'll explore ways faith leaders can support individuals and families navigating serious illness and life's difficult transitions.
