What to Expect at the Wound Care Center

Your care team at Genesis Wound Care Center is here to support you and help your wound heal.

You want answers and a clear plan for healing. At Genesis Wound Care Center, we take a close look at your wound and learn what’s causing the problem. Then we create a treatment plan for you and teach you how to care for your wound and prevent new ones.

You want to know what will happen and feel ready for your care. At Genesis Wound Care Center, we guide you every step of the way.

At your first visit, we will learn more about you and your health. We will examine your wound and may order tests to better understand it. From there, we create a care plan just for you. We will explain your treatment and show you how to care for your wound at home.

Your care will continue with regular visits. At each visit, we check your progress, review any test results, and adjust your treatment if needed. We also take time to answer your questions so you feel confident moving forward.

Healing is a team effort. There are simple ways you can help your wound heal:

    • Follow your care instructions at home
    • Take your medications as directed
    • Eat healthy foods and get enough rest
    • Avoid smoking
    • Keep your follow-up visits

We’re here to support you, but your daily care makes a big difference.

Sometimes, wounds need extra attention. Call us if you notice:

    • More redness, swelling or pain from the wound
    • Increased drainage from the wound
    • Odor after cleaning your wound
    • Fever or chills
    • The wound is getting larger or not healing

We know billing and insurance can feel confusing. We’re here to help make it easier.

You may receive separate bills for hospital care, your doctor or tests. Most insurance plans cover wound care, but your coverage may vary. We will submit claims to your insurance for you based on the information you provide.

If you have questions about your coverage, we recommend calling your insurance provider. You can also talk with our team. We’re happy to help guide you.

    You're not alone

It’s not easy to deal with a wound that won’t heal. You don’t have to manage it on your own. Our team is here to support you, answer your questions and help you move toward healing.
