This means that whenever you need care during labor and delivery, after your baby is born, or for urgent women’s health needs, an experienced OB/GYN doctor is always here to help you.

What is an OB/GYN Hospitalist?

They are doctors who stay in the hospital and focus on caring for women while they are here.

Genesis offers this program so there is always an expert OB/GYN doctor in the hospital. Because they are always on-site, you get immediate, expert care at any moment. They work closely with your regular doctor and care team, making sure you receive the best support throughout your hospital stay.

With this program, you get:

• Immediate access to an OB/GYN doctor in the hospital
• Extra care and support during emergencies
• Care at any time during the day or night, weekends, and holidays
• Help with both routine and high-risk pregnancies
• Communication with your regular OB/GYN and care team

You may be cared for by an OB/GYN Hospitalist if:

• You come to Labor & Delivery and your regular OB/GYN doctor isn’t available
• You need to stay in the hospital for pregnancy problems or need emergency care
• You are in labor overnight, weekends or during holidays
• You are in the hospital for a women’s health concern that needs an OB/GYN expert

Will this replace my regular OB/GYN or gynecologist?

No, your regular doctor will still take care of you during office visits and follow-up care.
