Nationwide Children’s pediatric hospitalists dedicated to your child 24/7 at Genesis
At Genesis, we are committed to providing high-quality, comprehensive care to patients of all ages. That’s why we partner with Nationwide Children’s Hospital to provide a team of pediatric hospitalists to treat our youngest patients.
Pediatric hospitalists are specially trained to treat patients from birth to 18 years of age. Nationwide Children’s pediatric hospitalists are at Genesis Hospital 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, all year long, so they are just a few steps away when they are needed.
Nationwide Children’s pediatric hospitalists are specially trained and experienced doctors who are dedicated to caring for pediatric patients who are in the hospital. They provide care to your child on behalf of your regular pediatrician or family doctor while in the hospital. They treat babies and children, order testing as needed, and provide expert pediatric care.
The pediatric hospitalists also coordinate your child’s discharge from the hospital, and they follow up with your regular pediatrician or family doctor to ensure coordinated care.
Here’s a snapshot of what Nationwide Children’s pediatric hospitalists provide at Genesis Hospital:

Zanesville, Ohio (Feb. 24, 2022) – Several community organizations partnered in 2021 to offer free mammograms to those who couldn’t afford one due to lack of insurance, being under-insured or not having the ability to pay. Beginning in October, National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and ending in December, the program was a success, with 81 women completing their mammograms.
“I am grateful for this partnership that enables us to make a difference for women in the community,” said Pebbles Thornton, Director, Genesis Cancer Services. “Breast cancer is highly treatable if detected in its earliest stages through mammography. We are pleased to be a part of a program that saves lives.”
Genesis HealthCare System, Coconis Furniture, WHIZ TV, the Muskingum County Community Foundation, the Breast and Cervical Cancer Project, Radiology Associates of Southeastern Ohio, and several donors joined together in the effort. The free mammogram program will be offered again in October 2022.
