The Genesis Physician Memorial Scholarship is established to honor the legacy, service and commitment of physicians who dedicated their careers to improving the health and well-being of the communities served by Genesis HealthCare System. This scholarship recognizes the lasting impact physicians have not only through clinical excellence, but through compassion, leadership, mentorship and service to others.
The purpose of this scholarship is to support students pursuing careers in healthcare who demonstrate academic promise, strong character and a desire to serve their communities, particularly in areas with limited access to medical care. By investing in future healthcare professionals, this scholarship seeks to carry forward the values exemplified by Genesis physicians—commitment to patient-centered care, ethical practice, lifelong learning and community stewardship.
Through this scholarship, Genesis HealthCare System honors physician contributions while encouraging the next generation of healthcare professionals to follow in their footsteps. Recipients are selected based on their dedication to healthcare service, personal integrity and potential to positively impact patients and communities. This award reflects Genesis’s ongoing commitment to strengthening the healthcare workforce and ensuring high-quality, compassionate care for generations to come.
The application must be completed and submitted no later than March 15, 2026. If you are unable to apply online you may mail the completed application, to the Genesis HealthCare Foundation, 1135 Maple Avenue, Zanesville, Ohio 43701. The application must be postmarked by March 15, 2026. Incomplete applications or missing documents will not be considered. Download a printable copy of the application HERE.
Recipients are required to consent for any publicity associated with the award.
All applicants will be notified of selection status by March 30, 2026. The Genesis HealthCare Foundation will send awards to the recipient’s college or university once a thank you letter to the donor is received.
GENERAL ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE:
Minimum 3.0 Cumulative GPA
Pursuing a degree in health care
Financial need may be considered.
Each scholarship specifies additional restrictions, such as location.
