These messages may offer “MyChart Medicare Kits” or free senior health packages. Messages with headlines like “Your MyChart Medicare Kit Awaits!” are not from MyChart or Genesis. Delete them immediately. The goal is to trick people into sharing personal information. These scams may lead to identity theft, financial fraud or unauthorized access to personal health information.
If you receive a message that looks suspicious, do not click any links. Do not reply. Do not share personal, financial or health information. Messages with headlines like “Your MyChart Medicare Kit Awaits!” are not from MyChart or Genesis. Delete them immediately.
How to spot an email scam
Email messages often use real-looking logos, colors and graphics from familiar companies and brands to appear legitimate Before clicking a link, watch for these warning signs:
Spelling or grammar mistakes
A sender email address that does not match the company name
- A request to click a link and update personal, financial or health information
- A promise of a free gift, kit or special offer
How to know a Genesis MyChart message is real
Genesis may send you text messages or emails based on your communication preferences, and some messages may include links.
Legitimate Genesis MyChart messages will come from:
- Email: noreply@mychart.genesishcs.org
- MyChart, appointment notification and billing text messages from Genesis will only come from our 5-digit number: 57378
- Post-appointment survey text messages will come from a local phone number and will never offer free health packages or ask for personal information.
If you receive a message claiming to be from MyChart and you are not sure it is real, contact the Genesis MyChart Help Desk at (740) 454-5008 before taking action.
Stay Safe
Remember that scammers often rely on urgency and attractive offers to encourage quick action. Taking a few moments to verify a message before responding can help protect your personal, financial and health information.
