Genesis earns national recognition for life-saving cardiac arrest care

Genesis HealthCare System has been recognized for delivering life-saving care, earning the American Heart Association’s Get With The Guidelines®-Resuscitation Gold Award for the 10th consecutive year. This national recognition reflects an on-going commitment to helping patients receive timely, high-quality care during cardiac emergencies.

“With every heart emergency, there is a patient and a family facing a moment they dread,” said Scott Wegner, M.D., Chief Medical Officer of Genesis HealthCare System. “In these situations, it is critical for our teams to quickly and uniformly perform at the highest level of quality care, with the goal of saving life when possible.”

Genesis earned the award by meeting or exceeding national standards for treating patients who experience cardiac arrest in the hospital. This includes rapid response, coordinated care and the use of evidence-based guidelines that improve survival and recovery.
