Neurosciences Support & Education

At Genesis, we understand you and your family need support to enjoy a full recovery, and we offer a wide range of support groups to accommodate people seeking the opportunity to share their experiences with others.

We believe that talking and listening can help you and your families learn more about your condition and any challenges you may face. Working together, we can grow and heal.

These are the neurological support groups we offer:

Stroke Support Group

Genesis offers a support group for stroke survivors, families and caregivers. The support group is free and open to anyone in the community. Stroke survivors can reach their full potential after rehabilitation by sharing with people who experience similar challenges. Each month the support group has speakers, discussions and light refreshments.

The group offers:

  • Practical tools for survivors to regain a sense of normalcy in everyday life
  • Opportunities for stroke survivors to support and learn from each other
  • Information about adaptive technologies that might work for you.

The Stroke Support Group meets the FIRST Monday of each month from 4 to 5 p.m. at the Genesis HealthPlex Conference Center, Room C.

To register, email or call (740) 454-4621.

Brain Injury Support Group

A brain injury support group is open to the public and meets monthly to provide educational, recreational and social opportunities for brain injury survivors and their families.

For more information on the support group, call (740) 454-4712 or toll-free, 1-800-225-7957, ext. 4712.
