ZANESVILLE, OH (June 4, 2019) – Genesis Hospital was awarded an "A" from The Leapfrog Group’s spring 2019 Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade. The designation recognizes Genesis’ efforts in protecting patients from harm and providing safer healthcare.
"An ‘A’ grade from The Leapfrog Group demonstrates that Genesis HealthCare System is deeply committed to patient safety," said Matthew Perry, president and CEO of Genesis HealthCare System. "Our physicians and staff are dedicated to providing patient care in the safest environment. We believe in treating all patients as if they were our own family members."
Of the 109 hospitals in Ohio graded, Genesis was one of only 46 hospitals to earn this distinction for its performance and commitment to preventing medical errors, injuries, accidents, infections and other harm to patients in their care.
The Leapfrog Group is a national, nonprofit organization committed to improving health, safety and transparency in the U.S. healthcare system. The Hospital Safety Grade’s methodology is peer-reviewed and fully transparent, and the results are free to the public.
