Genesis HealthCare System Honored with Resuscitation Award
Dedicated to helping our patients have the best possible outcome
Zanesville, OH (June 21, 2018) Genesis HealthCare System received the Get With The Guidelines®-Resuscitation Gold Plus Award for implementing specific quality improvement measures outlined by the American Heart Association for treatment of the adult patient population who suffer cardiac arrests in the hospital.
“This award was achieved by bringing a dedicated, multi-disciplinary team together with physicians, nurses, respiratory therapists, pharmacists and other health care providers, focusing on process improvement to meet the high standards of evidence-based care,” said Tisha Babcock, director, Genesis Pulmonary and Critical Care Services.
“Genesis is dedicated to helping our patients have the best possible outcome,” said Philip Fields, M.D., pulmonologist, Genesis Critical Care. “This award was achieved by a dedicated team focused on quality care. We are fortunate to have this caliber of caregivers at Genesis Hospital.”
More than 200,000 adults and children have an in-hospital cardiac arrest each year, according to the American Heart Association. Guidelines include following protocols for patient safety, medical emergency team response, effective and timely resuscitation (CPR) and post-resuscitation care. To qualify for the awards, hospitals must comply with the quality measures for two or more consecutive years.
