Genesis Receives Employee Engagement Award
Genesis HealthCare System has been awarded the Advisory Board Company’s 2013 Excellence in Engagement award. Genesis was one of 20 recipients chosen for this award based on hospitals in the Advisory Board’s database that use its tools. The award honors U.S. hospitals and health systems who exhibit extraordinary levels of workforce engagement.
Engaged employees, as defined by the Advisory Board, are those who exhibit both loyalty and commitment to the organization. These employees are willing to expend discretionary effort, often going above and beyond to help the organization succeed. While Genesis has exceptional levels of engagement among employees, it also maintains extremely low levels of disengagement.
“What we do here at Genesis is special, and I’m honored to be a part of it,” said Matthew Perry, Genesis President & CEO. “This award is recognition that employees at Genesis are committed to our mission to provide compassionate, quality health care to the members of our community. I am proud of our employees for providing phenomenal patient care.”
