Child Gives Birthday Money to Genesis Hospice
Zanesville, OH (Dec. 8, 2014) – Caleb Young recently donated the $245 he received in birthday money to Genesis Hospice Care. The donation was made in memory of Caleb’s great-grandfather, Roy R. Young.
Caleb’s great-grandfather was special to him and attended the 8-year-old’s football and baseball games. “Papa was friends to everybody. Nobody in the neighborhood was a stranger,” Caleb said.
Roy was cared for in his home by Genesis Hospice before he passed in March 2014. Caleb’s mother, Melanie Young, said, “Genesis Hospice enabled my grandpa to be at his home. The caregivers were kind and compassionate and were always a phone call away whenever we needed anything.”
Rebecca Jenei, director of Genesis Hospice said, “We’re pleased to be able to provide compassionate care to community members in their home. During the holiday season it’s even more special that a young person, like Caleb, gives back by donating his birthday money.”
