Alcohol and drug abuse can happen to people of any age. That's why Genesis Drug and Alcohol Recovery developed a program for adolescents 13 to 18 years old who are experiencing substance use problems.
In this five-week program, you learn how to stop using alcohol and other drugs. You’ll benefit from counseling, individualized treatment, group and family support, random drug screenings and ongoing evaluation of goal accomplishment.
Substance Abuse Treatment Topics
Your program will cover:
- Addiction process
- Peer influence
- Family issues
- Recovery process
- Anger, assertiveness and aggression
The program meets twice a week for two hours each night over five weeks. You may enroll on your own or through an agency referral, and you’ll be accepted regardless of payment source.
As a parent, you’re an important part of your child's recovery process. Attend family sessions during the fourth week of the program to learn how to manage family issues related to substance abuse. Feel free to ask counselors questions individually or in a family session any time.
After completing treatment, enter our Continuing Care program, which meets for one hour weekly to reinforce progress.
