Family Contributes to Tree of Love for 20 Years

For more than 20 years, the family of Sara West has honored her memory with an evergreen tree in Genesis’ Tree of Love display.

Sara was five years old when she died.

“We asked if Sara’s tree could be placed by the door so she could be remembered by everyone who comes to or leaves the hospital,” says Sara’s grandmother, Shirley West. “It’s a nice way to remember her, and it’s giving to a good cause that benefits lots of people.”

Family members contribute to the annual donation and gather for the tree lighting ceremony. “It gives us something to look forward to as a family to remember Sara every year,” Shirley says.
