Aromatherapy soothes and relaxes the senses and can be used to decrease symptoms of physical or stress-related illnesses.
Aromatherapy is the use of essential oils extracted from herbs, flowers and fruits. It has been used for hundreds of years for healing and soothing symptoms of illnesses.
The oils can be diffused into the air, used in massage oil or dropped into a bath. The use will depend on the type of essential oil.
A synergy is created when essential oils are blended together. This blending creates a more potent effect together than if used one at a time. No more than four oils should be together in any blend.
Essential oils are very concentrated and must be used with caution. When used correctly, essential oils are very therapeutic and effective. Many have precautions and contraindications for use. Before using any essential oil, research should be done on the above issues.
