Genesis Medical Center Campaign $1 Million from Goal
Zanesville, OH (Aug. 1, 2013) – The Genesis HealthCare Foundation announced the “Your Hospital. Your Health.” campaign recently surpassed the $14 million mark – just $1 million shy of the $15 million goal. The campaign is raising $15 million toward financing the construction of the new Genesis medical center, slated to open in 2015.
The community is encouraged to get involved and help the Foundation reach its goal. Campaign volunteer Alice Mauk said, “It’s going to take a lot of hard work to raise that final $1 million. We invite everyone in the community to support the project. We welcome gifts of all sizes. If we all do what we can, we’ll get there in no time.”
Online donations to the “Your Hospital. Your Health.” campaign can be made at genesishcs.org/foundation; information about the campaign is also on the website.
“This is a great project, and we want everyone to know about it,” said Shirley VanWye, campaign volunteer. “I encourage members of our community to view a 10-minute video on the website – it does a great job of explaining what this new medical center means for our community.”
The “Building For Your Health” section at genesishcs.org also offers more information about the new medical center, including frequently asked questions, renderings of the facility’s design, and a live webcam to view the progress of the construction.
In May, Genesis began construction of the new medical center on its existing Bethesda Hospital site. The facility will consist of a new patient tower attached to a renovated Bethesda Hospital and will have all private patient rooms. The Dr. Nick A. and Nancy R. Sarap Cancer Center will also be constructed on the site. The project is being financed through a combination of bonds and the $15 million capital campaign.
