Genesis Earns Silver Award From the American Heart Association

Patient Care and Safety is Top Priority

ZANESVILLE, OH (Sept. 29, 2016) – Genesis recently received the Get With The Guidelines®-Resuscitation Silver Award by the American Heart Association for caring for patients in cardiac arrest in the hospital. The measures include standards for patient safety, emergency team response, CPR and care after resuscitation.

“The communities Genesis serves can be very proud of what Genesis is doing in meeting the quality standards,” said Abby Loechler, quality and systems improvement, the American Heart Association. The achievement represents Genesis’ continued commitment to quality care in southeastern Ohio.

To meet the quality standards, Genesis developed a team of doctors, nurses and staff and put in in automated external defibrillators throughout the hospital to care for patients who suffer from cardiac arrest within minutes. There are only a few hospitals in Ohio who have achieved the Get With The Guidelines®-Resuscitation award, and statistics prove that hospitals achieving these quality standards have better outcomes.
