Genesis Earns National Distinction
Meeting or Exceeding Quality and Safety Standards
ZANESVILLE, OH (Oct. 3, 2016) – Genesis HealthCare System was awarded accreditation from the Healthcare Facilities Accreditation Program (HFAP). It earned this distinction after the HFAP conducted an extensive and objective review of the quality and safety standards of Genesis HealthCare System.
“The HFAP accreditation demonstrates our commitment to provide the highest standard of care possible,” said Daniel Scheerer, M.D., chief medical affairs officer. “We base our decision on federal standards, as well as recognized national standards for patient safety, quality improvement and environmental safety. Genesis met or exceeded the standards in every case.”
HFAP is authorized by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) to survey hospitals. The HFAP accreditation is recognized by the federal government, state governments, managed care organizations and insurance companies.
