Stroke Support Group Meets Monday, May 4

Zanesville, OH (April 23, 2015) – Genesis Rehabilitation Services offers a support group for stroke survivors and caregivers. The group is free and open to the community.

The monthly support group has speakers and discussions. The speaker in May is Brenda Allen, occupational therapist, Genesis Rehabilitation Services. She’ll share handwriting and fine motor strategies for stroke survivors.

“Support groups are an important part of recovering from a stroke,” said Jason Cunningham, manager, Genesis Rehabilitation Services. “Sharing similar experiences helps stroke survivors, caregivers, friends and family members learn to live with this life-changing event,” he said.

The support group meets the first Monday of every month from 4 to 5 p.m. in Conference Room C in the Genesis HealthPlex on Maple Avenue. Registration is encouraged but not required. To register or for more information, call Jason Cunningham at (740) 454-4621 or email jacunningham@genesishcs.org. Learn more about strokes
