Free Exercise and Nutrition Program for Children Starts Monday, Jan. 5

Zanesville, OH (Dec. 17, 2014) Genesis Nutrition Education is offering a free program to help children and parents make healthy lifestyle choices. Shaping Futures is a hands-on program designed for children ages 5 to 11 years old.

“Shaping Futures is a fun, interactive program filled with games, activities and the chance to win prizes,” said Heather Shuster, manager, Genesis Population Health & Wellness. The sessions are taught by certified fitness professionals and registered dieticians. Children and parents have the opportunity to learn about healthy nutrition for busy lifestyles, stress and emotional eating, food labels, portion control techniques, budgets, kid-friendly foods and more.

The first four-week session starts Monday, Jan. 5. Shaping Futures is held at the Muskingum Recreation Center, in Zanesville, on Mondays and Thursdays from 6 to 7 p.m. There isn’t any cost to attend, but children need to be accompanied by an adult, and registration is required. To register or for more information, send an email to or call Genesis Nutrition Education at (740) 454-4568 or toll-free at 866-351-6688.
