Tax and Estate Planning Seminars
Nationally recognized consultant and charitable tax strategist Winton C. Smith, JD, will conduct two special tax and estate planning seminars on Tuesday, Nov. 1 at the Genesis HealthPlex on Maple, 2800 Maple Ave., Zanesville. Sponsored by the Genesis HealthCare Foundation, the seminars are open to the public.
The morning session (8 a.m. to noon) is designed for technical and professional advisors such as attorneys, trust officers, certified financial planners, chartered life underwriters, certified public accountants, business valuation experts, appraisers and other members of estate planning teams. Special topics include closely held companies, S corporations, limited liability companies and partnerships, retirement plan gifts, charitable trusts and wealth replacement trusts. The focus will be on estate planning techniques that emphasize creative ways to increase spendable income, establish guaranteed lifetime income while saving income, and capital gains taxes. The seminar has been approved for professional continuing education credit of three hours, and participants will receive a 128-page manual prior to the workshop.
The evening session (6:30 to 9 p.m.) is open to the public and will feature a dessert reception. Community members, not-for-profit executives, board members, volunteers and others looking for ways to help their organizations and donors learn more about planned gifts will find this session informative.
There is no admission fee for either seminar; however, registration is required by calling the Genesis HealthCare Foundation at (740) 454-5388. Seating is limited.
